From June 29-July 10, 2022, Step Afrika! returned to Slovenia for a third time, performing at one of Europe’s largest arts festivals and serving young students across the country. The Company began the tour in Maribor, Slovenia, at the incredible Lent Festival, followed by seven beautiful days in Lendava, a small town near the Hungarian border.
After a few days’ rest in the Capital, Llubjana, Step Afrika! then traveled to Warsaw, Poland, to host the Company’s popular International Youth Exchange Program for Polish and Ukrainian high school students. A special initiative designed to help Ukrainian students displaced by the war, Step Afrika! led workshops that built confidence and encouraged teamwork between the participants. The Company also performed at a packed reception hosted by the US Ambassador to Poland, Ambassador Mark Brzezinski, and attended by former US Secretary of State John Kerry.
