In partnership with the U.S. Embassy, Step Afrika! brought the African American tradition of stepping to Senegal November 23-27, 2024. The short tour included a series of high-energy workshops with the National Ballet La Linguère and students from Artea Culture Ecole (below), as well as a collaborative performance at the renowned Théâtre National Daniel Sorano.
The Company also engaged with local students at CEM Soumbedioune and participated in a feature on the popular TV show Kinkelibaa on Radiodiffusion Télévision Sénégalaise. Step Afrika!’s second African tour in 2024, this trip celebrated cultural connections and artistic exchanges between the U.S. and Senegal through the powerful art form of stepping.
